Salah's work is emotion and soulful
"My mind is full of small boxes. Each box, it has an image. This image, I capture it from my childhood, from any time of my life.. I just take the soul of these things, I take that emotion." - Salah Elmur
This works to expand and push emotion on large scale with using color, space, and perspective, truly capturing the essence of a memory. The perspective of the women standing in a white dress with a red rose and with on of the men in the same suit and hat but with a red undershirt. This can be taken as she has feelings for him or could be looked at from many different perspectives such as jealousy.

This work tells many stories, this piece in particular looks to focus in on contrast and shape. There is a strong contrast from the mother holding her child but also she is staying on the red side of the painting. Only a little bit on the "husbands side," this contrast can be read in many different ways, such as looking at the variety of shapes within these people.
